New standard ISO 9001: 2015

Quality continuously updated

Following publication of the new ISO 9001 in September 2015 by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization), the qPMO network is upgrading to the new standards through specific courses, to bring new opportunities for improvement. The older version of the standard (2008) will be replaced by September 2018; before that date the organizations already certified or not, may continue to use the previous standard and will have about three years to readapt its Quality Management System, making it compliant with the new ISO 9001: 2015.

The main changes are: the standard structure organized into 10 chapters to facilitate the development of Integrated Management Systems; the introduction of risk-based thinking, useful for risk analysis and to identify opportunities for improvement; greater emphasis on leadership; a simplification of the documentation; more attention to the context in which businesses operate; the introduction of the term services most suitable to the tertiary sector organizations and greater flexibility that makes the new standard more suited to the different requirements of each company.
