Terms and conditions

Thank you for visiting the quality4lab site. Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully. These Terms and Conditions contain important information regarding your rights, obligations and restrictions in connection with your use of the quality4lab website. By using and/or visiting the quality4lab site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Site.

We may change these Terms and Conditions from time to time, so you should review them each time that you visit the Site. You should print a copy of these Terms and Conditions for future reference. The modified Terms and Conditions will become effective upon posting. The publication date will be indicated on the website, available for viewing at any time. If you continue to use the quality4lab site post-change, you are agreeing to the updated items.

We will use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions.

 

ABOUT US

This website aims to promote a culture of Quality, knowledge sharing, procedural homogeneity and collaboration within the scientific community. The website strives to facilitate the cataloging, sharing, and consultation of scientific resources focusing on the Life Sciences which are available at the Italian National Research Council (CNR). The website has been produced by the qPMO network and is hosted at the Informatics Core of the Institute of Genetics and Biophysics.

 

USER CONDUCT

  1. Users, whether registered or not, must be over 13 years of age. If you are under 16, you must first obtain the consent of your parent or guardian to use or register with the Site.
  2. All the items presented are subject to a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial license. This means that anyone is free to read, copy, distribute, transmit and adapt the items, provided that attribution of the work is always given by its proper citation (please add the name of the authors and the URL referring to the specific content) and that such re-use is not for commercial purposes.
  3. Users must evaluate, and bear all risks associated with, the use of any Content, including any reliance on the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of such Content.
  4. Users must not otherwise alter, adapt or reverse-engineer any part of the Site.
  5. Users should be aware that contents may be removed from the Site with or without notice at any time, and that reliance on their continued availability is at the user's risk.


REGISTRATION

  1. Only one registration per person is allowed. You must keep your registration information up to date. You must choose an institutional email address which gives you frequent access to emails sent to that address, as we need to be able to contact you. If you need to change your email address, contact us.
  2. You must not:
    1. a. impersonate or try to impersonate another person;
      b. disclose your password to anyone else;
      c. allow anyone else to use your account;
      d. use anyone else's account.
  3. You are responsible for everything done using your account, even if someone else is using your registration details without your knowledge. If you think that someone else may have access to, or be using, your password or account, you must tell us as soon as possible by emailing us.
  4. We may suspend, terminate or prevent your registration at our sole discretion. This may be because, for example, we consider that you have breached or will breach these Terms and Conditions, or our Privacy Policy, or someone has reported abuse. However, we are not obliged to do these things. It is our policy to terminate the registration of anyone who repeatedly infringes the rights of any third-party.
  5. If we suspend, terminate or prevent your registration, you must not attempt to re-register or submit content or applications (e.g. using someone else's registration) without our permission. The period of any suspension depends on the circumstances.
  6. If we suspend, terminate or prevent your registration, we may continue to publish Your Content.

 

YOUR CONTENT (CONTRIBUTIONS AND LINKS)

You understand and agree that all the Contents you insert (information, data, text, or other materials), whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from which such Content originated. This means that you, and not the quality4lab website, are entirely responsible for all Content that you insert, upload, or otherwise transmit via the website.

You must carefully read and follow the indications contained in the specific Guidelines for the Data Entry of the different contents.

You must not submit any material to the quality4lab website which:

    1. is inappropriate (defamatory, abusive, malicious, threatening, false, misleading, offensive, discriminatory, harassing, blasphemous, obscene, racist or sexist);
    2. could prejudice any active legal proceedings which you are aware of;
    3. infringes any intellectual property rights, such as copyright, patent and trade marks. This means generally that you must own the rights to everything you submit or must obtain permission to submit the material from the owner of the rights;
    4. contains accusations of impropriety or personal criticism of quality4lab or qPMO staff;
    5. is technically harmful (including, without limitation, computer viruses, logic bombs, Trojan horses, worms, harmful components, corrupted data or other malicious software, harmful data or conduct);
    6. impersonates anyone else or otherwise misrepresents your identity, affiliation or status;
    7. offers, advertises or promotes any product or services, or makes any requests for donations or financial support;
    8. is not in the English language;
    9. is in breach of these Terms and Conditions or our Privacy Policy.

You may only include links to any third-party websites or webpages on the quality4lab website if:

    1. the content of or act of linking to such websites or webpages does not breach any of the above prohibitions;
    2. the terms of use of such websites or webpages allow such linking;
    3. the content of any linked website is relevant and clearly related to the Content to which it is linked;
    4. links are clearly and visibly marked as such sand will not result in any automatic download.

Unless you have our express permission to do so, you must not re-submit content which you are aware has been previously removed.

All the contents you insert are subject to a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial license.

You must not attempt to avoid or undermine any protections we put in place for the security and operation of the Site.

 

MANAGING YOUR CONTENT

Content submitted for publication on the quality4lab website are reviewed and edited by an editorial staff of scientists in order to ensure clarity and consistency of style and presentation.

At our sole discretion, we may check, edit, publish, or remove any of your User generated content or other material which you submit to us ('Your Content'), including your name, town and country. We are not obliged to do any of these things, and we may not.

Quality4lab makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, as to the accuracy or completeness of the information contained or referenced therein.

 

LINKING TO THE SITE

You may establish a link to the quality4lab website, provided that:

  1. the link is not detrimental to and/or does not take unfair advantage of our reputation or business;
  2. the link does not falsely suggest that we endorse, approve of or are associated with your website or any of its contents;
  3. framing is not allowed, and you must not provide access to the Site or part of it under any other URL (e.g. by domain forwarding, URL re-direction or similar).

      MAINTENANCE OF THE SITE

        (a) Making your use of the Site enjoyable means we need to fix bugs, install updates and do general diagnosis and maintenance of the Site, which may make the Site less accessible or available for your use during those times.

        (b) We also need to be able to do emergency maintenance and/or suspend access to the servers when, in our reasonable discretion, we see the need to do that. We will try to have the Site available again as soon as we think it is safe to do so.

         

      VALIDITY OF THE TERMS

        If any part or provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of any other part or provision.

        Personal Information We Collect About You

          Website visitors may choose to register with our website in order to insert their contents. If you choose to register with our website, we may ask you to provide information such as your full name and email address. All information collected in this phase will be kept strictly confidential and will be subject to the provisions of current privacy law (Legislative Decree no. 196, 30 June 2003, in force since January 1, 2004, and subsequent amendments). We will never rent, sell, share, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties. Your e-mail address will only be used to provide you with a password and any other useful information.

          When you insert your content, you will asked to insert the full name, e-mail address and institutional address of a Contact person that will be published, subject to the provisions of current law (Legislative Decree no. 150, 27 October 2009).
