To a CNR Researcher an important recognition by the SCAR
A few days ago, in the framework “"Celebrating Women in Antarctica", dr Cinzia Verde was appointed "influential female Antarctic researcher" (http://www.scar.org/outreach/women) by the SCAR (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research). This initiative is aimed at highlighting the profile of women scientists and, among other things, at giving an example for scientists at the beginning of their careers.
Cinzia Verde is a Researcher at the Institute of Biosciences and BioResources of the National Research Council (NRC-IBBR) and is a qualified full professor in Biochemistry. SCAR is the international organization responsible for coordinating the polar research in the world.
This award, highly prestigious both for Italy and for NRC, can be found in the free Encyclopedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red), that has a devoted a whole page to Cinzia Verde (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinzia_Verde), illustrating her broad curriculum, with adeguate network access (SCAR Wikibomb event). The free Encyclopedia includes women scientists as Rita Levi Montalcini and Marie Curie.
Cinzia Verde has been invited to give a "keynote" lecture in the at the forthcoming SCAR World Scientific Summit, that will take place in Kuala Lumpur (Malesia) in August 2016.
